The Bowood Estate
Since moving here in 2012 I have been made to feel very welcome by The Estate.
In particular they have been supportive and understanding of my creative efforts of creating this unusual the garden from scratch and the aim of service to the community. Every encouragement has been afforded me. And this has spurred on my efforts.
Lord and Lady Lansdowne kindly visited me to open the garden in 2016 and also were sympathetic of my entering my garden on to the National Gardens Scheme and in becoming a registered charity in 2017.
I would also like to thank Lord Lansdowne for always offering a tip or two about plants, for being very encouraging of my projects and garden plans overall, and for being so sympathetic towards my vision. His comments and observations are always kind and most perspicacious
Simon Kerstan
A special note of note of thanks goes to my Trustee and good friend Simon Kerstan. On a daily basis he is supportive with ideas, research, analysis, information- and encouragement
He checks all the websites and documents, and offers suggestions. He organised the Google search placement . Inputs much technical and i.t. advice.
And twice a year organises a holiday at home in Germany for me and an itinerary of excursions and social activities. He also comes over from Germany twice a year for a week to help out. and for research and exploration across England, or holiday to another country.
And to the Family Kerstan for always providing me with a loving welcome in their home and a holiday each year. Without recharging my batteries thus it is unlikely I could have continued with the Trust.
Richard Boyd
Who has been a stalwart supporter every week of the year with regular advice, encouragement help and material aid.
In times of illness and injury driving me to hospital or doctor. In times of need collecting foreign students/volunteers from the airport. Providing transport to enable me to show our visiting students heritage sites.
And a plethora of knowledge and insights about conservation, climate change, renewable energy and much else. Oh and Costa!
Trustees
I would like to express my thanks to my Trustees (Colette, Iain, Nick, Ryan, David, Simon) for having become Trustees and for their diligence in maintaining oversight, reading the reports/checking the accounts and attending meetings.

UNITED WAY Volunteering Day 2024
Major charity United Way UK in association with Holman Transport Management organised a volunteering day at the Trust garden for some of the employees of Holman Transport Management. Two separate groups came morning and afternoon and were engaged digging up old turf of two large sections of the rear lawns, levelling the ground, sprinkling on fertiliser and then laying down new turf. Others were sanding the large wooden pergola in readiness for painting. Another volunteer undertook power washing of paths and also some patios. All materials and tools were supplied by United Way.
The Trust wishes to thank United Way and Holman Transport Management for their sponsorship volunteering day. And especially to Zoe to United Way UK for all the organising and extensive liaison regarding materials, planning, and logistics
